Terms
Terms of use
These terms cover use of the Handld.it website. They are written for the Teesside air-conditioning service as it works today.
Using this website
By using handld.it you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site or send an enquiry.
The site is aimed at homeowners in the United Kingdom, currently for domestic air-conditioning enquiries on Teesside.
What Handld.it is — and is not
Handld.it matches a homeowner enquiry with a suitable local service provider. We are not the installer. We do not employ the installers listed on the site, we do not carry out installation work, and we do not sell air-conditioning equipment.
A profile on this site describes what an installer has told us they cover. It is not a recommendation that you must use them, and it is not a guarantee that they can take your job.
Quotes, surveys and contracts
When you send an enquiry, we pass the details you give us to an installer covering your postcode so they can contact you. Any quote, survey, price, timescale, guarantee or installation contract is agreed between you and that installer, not with Handld.it.
You decide whether to go ahead. There is no obligation to accept a quote you receive after using this site.
We cannot promise availability
We will try to find an installer who covers your postcode and does that kind of job. We do not guarantee that someone will be available, that they will respond, or that they will be able to quote or install to your timescale.
Coverage is limited. If we cannot match your enquiry, we will try to let you know by email. The site may also be unavailable from time to time while we maintain it.
Using the site fairly
You agree to:
- use the enquiry form for a genuine homeowner request, or to ask us about the service itself;
- give details that are accurate as far as you know;
- not use the form to send spam, malware, or content you do not have the right to share;
- not try to break, scrape at scale, or overload the site or its forms.
Photos you upload should be of your own property, or of a space you are allowed to photograph. Do not upload pictures of other people if they have not agreed.
If something goes wrong
We provide the website and the matching service as they are. We take care over the information we publish, but area guides, installer profiles and typical lead times can change and may be incomplete.
We are not responsible for the installer’s workmanship, advice, price, delays, damage or any contract you enter into with them. Those sit with the installer.
We are not responsible for losses that we could not reasonably have expected, or for losses caused by something we could not control (for example the site being down, or an installer not responding). Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
UK law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory rights you have to bring a claim in another part of the UK.
Changes
We may update these terms as the service changes. The date at the top of this page is the date of the current version. If you keep using the site after a change, the new terms apply to that later use.
Questions about these terms can go through the contact page.
